Only slight annoyance is the metal L plates at the corners disrupt the line of the cap, so it's slightly uneven. Feel like there should metal plates all the way round to to keep it all even? Great Raised Bed Result

• The build was quite straightforward, however aligning the dowels on the longest piece was a bit tricky. May I suggest you either create a more pointy plastic dowel or chamfer the underside of the receiving hole. I found if the centre dowel didn’t line up I ended up with a rocking motion which upset the lower pieces. I am very pleased with the result & would recommend your product to anyone looking for an alternative to bricks or sleepers.

Definitely buy again

• Great product - actually using a couple of “raised beds” to act as a stand for a two ton boat. Two small issues - the metal corner braces for the top layer were very difficult to fit properly - the tolerances on dowel positions were such that the holes in the braces did not line up - same tolerances issues meant that some layers were very difficult to fit over previous - changing individual blox around helped - i.e. holes in blox were slightly closer (3mm) to one end than the other These are minor, slightly irritating but work-aroundable with care. In all other respects, excellent. Will defo buy more for garden use.

Easy and looks good

• My one reservation is that not all of the capping was of the same shade. I'm sure this will not show when properly weathered. Very easy to assemble.

Great raised beds

• I ordered a rectangular raised bed to go alongside an octagonal bed I recently purchased from Woodblocx. The bed was ordered on a Sunday and delivered on Wednesday, so I'm very impressed with this. It was easy to put together (you get a colour coded guide of which piece goes where, so just follow that) and it looks great. The best thing is that you don't need any power tools or DIY skills, so works perfectly for me.

Raised Bed

• I purchase a raised bed kit, having decided the shape and size I needed. The webpage allowed me to select the exact item I wanted and design it very quickly. The process was extremely simple and straightforward. I was kept updated as to the status of the order and it arrived within a few days. The build instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The part of the build which took the longest was levelling the ground on which it was to sit. Once this was completed, the building of the bed was quite rapid. It did take two days overall, but that was more down to the fact that we were being careful and therefore probably a bit slower than anticipated. Overall, very pleased with the product and it looks lovely.

Missing pieces but looks good

• Easy to put together and looks great now that it is filled. As it is an octagonal shape it was initially quite complicated to put together by myself but once I got the hang of it, it was straightforward. This would be a 5 star review except that it was missing 2 pieces, and I had to wait for the missing pieces to be delivered. It also took a lot more compost to fill it than the person I spoke to when I rang about the missing pieces said it would.

• Previous order wood was a lovely brownish colour. This order is more green. We're going to paint it so not a problem but until we do it's going to look strange

Nice final product but very fiddly

• We bought two L shaped raised beds for our garden. We kept being told by people that it was just like Lego but in reality they were really fiddly to put together and took us hours. The metal supports were very hard to fit and the top layer had to be shaved off in places as it just didn’t fit. Seems sturdy and I like the finished product, I am just very glad I don’t have to make them again. Delivery was really quick which was great.

Very solid and easy to construct

• Very easy to build with printed instructions. I actually wanted mine to be mobile as it had to span a manhole cover. It was straightforward to construct the bottom two tiers and then build a chassis within that with multiple heavy duty wheel sets. I then completed the additional woodblox levels, reinforcing as I went. Obviously would have been much more straightforward had the bed been only required to be static. The idea in my application is to extend the hedge at the front of the house.

WoodBlocX raised beds. Well worth the effort and the price.

• Once we got our heads around how it went together it was very simple. It went on soft ground which we had tamped down, which was fine, until we went to put the 2nd layer of blocks on. Some of the pegs didn’t quite line up and when we tapped them into place the bottom row sunk further in to the ground. So not quite the perfect finish but ok.

Lovey raised beds

• I have four WoodbloX raised beds in my garden, this new raised bed is to replace the first one I bought 12 years ago, it was rotting from the inside, I'm glad to see that WoodbloX now recommend lining the beds to help the wood weather better, the other beds in my garden are more sheltered and are wearing very well, I am happy with my WoodbloX beds, they are easy to put together and look great when painted, I recommend them to everyone!

• My hubby and I got our planter built in a couple of hours. We wanted something to cover the bottom of an ugly wall at the back of our patio. Genius design

• Really pleased with our raised bed. It was quite a lot of hard work putting it together. But well worth the effort. The online instructions are good. Nothing left over at the end, always a good sign.

Two new raised planters

An expensive regret!

• This was impossible to lay in-situ as you cannot get 4 metres of blocks to sit level on soft ground. I have therefore had to build this in my garage on a solid and level floor. Even there, the blocks do not fit snugly and evenly. The quality of the blocks is poor and they are not consistent to a high enough degree to create a level structure. They do not look like the blocks that can be seen in the promotional videos. Furthermore - half the blocks have clearly been recently pressure treated (green and wet) while the other half are bone dry and brown. This adds to the uneven nature of the build and won't look nice initially (before everything fades). On the whole very disappointed.

• Apart from no having enough pegs in the delivery, everything went fine and a lovely lady sent us the missing bit straight away. Disappointed given price paid and online pictures

• We bought 2x raised beds for £850 as we liked how you could customise size and looked high quality and it looked very easy to build. However, on arrival, we were shocked at the quality of the wood that arrived. It’s almost like the wood had been sat in water for a while as a lot of the blocks were damp and green (moulding) - see pictures. The images online look clearly vanished but this was not the case on arrival. We decided to build the beds thinking it would disappear when dry but not the case, and the mouldy blocks were placed at the back of the beds so not on show (although some still at front). The build was not as simple as expected. I like the smart design, but pieces did not fit easily. The L shape metal connecters didn’t fit at all and we’ve had to build without, and the tops don’t easily slot into the top pegs - see pictures. I’ve had to wrestle some into place, whilst others just won’t fit so I’ll likely have to cut to fit. Given 3 star (maybe too generous for price paid) as the structure is smart and front of planters with no mould look good, and feels like good quality wood despite the damp/mould. But didn’t expect this for price paid.

• I'm not sure you wanted me to review my purchase yet! It looks great and I have purchased but there’s a delivery problem that I did not expect until the delivery company called me. They won't leave it in my back garden. I'm eagerly awaiting my delivery, and I'm currently seeking assistance to have it safely moved to my back garden.

• I have ordered a pond and planter before there was no problem fitting them together. These 2 were an absolute nightmare they took 2 days to put together and they were smaller, holes did not line up and when we needed to get some of the screws out they wouldn't undo easily.

Goodish but could be better.

• Good idea but there's a few issues. The precision in the drilling could be better. Some blocks are hard to fit because the hole centres are out. Some of blocks are warped and some are short. So the blockwork has gaps and areas where they are not flush. Also because of the impression the corner plates don't fit flat. The wood is a lot rougher than in the pictures and the video. However though I think the beds look OK. Just got to do a bit of smoothing, filling and painting. Gary

• Preparation is all. Essential that a level surface is available to make construction as easy as possible. Read the assembly instructions carefully, don't just rely on the layer by layer diagram.

• We bought 4 raised planter beds, we have built the first one, yeah! Even my wife enjoyed whacking in the dowels. Once the first layer is down and set level, which takes time, then the next 3-4 layers are just like Lego blocks. The final product is excellent. Before I saw your product I was thinking railway sleepers, but was never happy with that, so thank goodness I saw your product. Thank you. If we have some missing bits, I am sure that you can help us with spares, cheers.

Okay - underwhelming

• A little bit disappointed with the quality of the wood. It is a lot rougher than they look on the website with a lot of variation in the tones. A lot of it also looked green! It was a lot harder to put together than it suggests. You need some real strength.

• I loved the whole concept and design of the blocks and connectors. I have no real building skills aside from the ability to measure accurately and plan, etc. Therefore, being able to build a stable, quality bed with relative ease and just a few blisters was a dream. Second Woodblocx Raised Bed

• This is my second rectangular raised bed purchase, after I bought the previous one over three years ago. This one is slightly larger at Length 1.35m x 2.25m x 0.35m. I bought the crop protector and protective liner too. Everything went together well, and I particularly liked the improved dowels, which can be removed if you make a mistake (i.e. after I skipped an important part of the instructions!). One of the blocks didn't have the recesses for the dowels drilled out very well, but a bit more force with the hammer got over that. A couple of things missing from the instructions are details of how to fit the protective liner and attach the crop protectors. I cut a couple of strips of liner and tacked these to the wood all the way round before adding the top layer. This is what I did with the previous one and it has lasted for three years so far, so I think it should be fine! The protective liner was *much* bigger than I needed, but it will come in useful for other projects - I'm going to try to use the two pallets from both my Woodblocx deliveries to make a small vertical herb planter :-) The bed is now planted with runner beans, dwarf french beans, garden peas, petit pois, cucumber, aubergines, sweet pepper and rocket!

Great kit for a complete novice but some niggles

• I’m a complete novice when it comes to building things and found I could manage this kit with the minimum of help. Took me a couple of days but I’m pleased with the result. The metal plates were a nightmare to fit and had to be drilled out to be able to fit flat. The finish of the capping is slightly off in some areas (ends don’t match) so will need a bit of cosmetic work. Disappointed with the packaging on delivery as two of the dowel bags had split and it wasn’t until near the end of the build that I discovered there were some missing.

Novice successfully builds own raised bed

• As an older woman not much used to DIY projects, I found my raised bed very straightforward to build. The diagrams in the instructions were easy to follow except for knowing that there was a right way up for the blocks! But the video helped to explain this. I built it over a few days as all that hammering was quite tiring. I wish you sold smaller amounts of the protective liner, as I have used only a tiny fraction of your standard pack. I would definitely recommend Woodblocx to anyone planning such a project. I've tried to add a photo but apparently it is the wrong file type!

Good quality, would recommend.

• The product itself is good , but the delivery procedure was very confusing .I had a number of calls to BLOCX about delivery when i noticed that the order was still in Scotland even with four tracking checks. we had the delivery from a local trading estate. which i thought was most unusual the order had come from Scotland to me via Manchester with no mention of it doing so on the tracking details. Sorry i cannot send you a photo as i do not have a camera to send it on line. Not everyone has a computer to build the raised garden so a paper copy of the build should be available to take outside to help with the build.

• All arrived on time on a pallet by a friendly delivery driver. We removed it from our drive to the back garden and made the first two layers on our decking then lifted into place. We found our lump hammer to be essential and would not have wanted to use a normal hammer. We followed the plan on our phone but but it could have been printed off. Some of the smaller blocks were quite tricky to get into place and took a little effort. We were pleased to receive the pre-cut dowels for the top section. The topping wood again was a little stubborn to secure in place but eventually we succeeded and were very pleased with the result. We are thinking of buying a second one ☺️

• The product is good, however there was no instruction booklet enclosed which meant we had to resort to peering at the download version on a mobile phone, which was not helpful. Additionally, the blocks were all pretty wet when delivered - this might not matter so much for a rectangular design but for the circular design we were assembling, it was often hard work getting the blocks in place. For £600, I had expected better. Finished product, now assembled is good and we are happy with it.

• Relatively good quality, but perhaps lacking a little quality control for the money. Most if not all blocks had green speckling on them, with some having white marks. Took some time to figure out what ones to face outwards and what ones to hide. Certainly doesn’t have the warm hue shown in some of the pictures, more the light white. That all said, I’m still very happy with it, a sand and a stain should sort it out.

Great product and genius instructions

• We found the website very easy to understand and ordered a custom planter/raised bed. We have a plot of land ‘shared’ with a neighbour at the back of our garden wall and we all wanted something easy to construct and realise. The delivery came exactly when we wanted it and we made the planter last Sunday, in about 4 hours altogether. My neighbour, my partner and myself. I thought the colour coded layer by layer instructions were genius and the videos really helped too. We filled it with a layer of sharp sand followed by a compost/topsoil mix this weekend and now we’re planning the planting to really brighten up this previously forlorn patch of land beside an electricity sub station. Thank you for thinking of everything in the package, spare wooden pieces, dowels, dowel removal tool etc. I shall recommend your product to anyone looking to make a custom raised bed or planter.

Good kit but could have done it better

• Great design and nice quality components. Just a massive pity that someone somewhere couldn't be ***** to include the instruction leaflet. And don't tell me to Do It Online because not everyone has a computer installed in their garden and tramping mud hither and yon while the laptop turns itself off the moment your back is turned does not improve this old lady's temper one bit.

Slight problem with underside of Block Holes

• This is the Fifth Raised Bed I have purchased and the results are excellent from a Growing point of view. The assembly is straightforward with clear instructions and the only comment I would make is that the finish on the holes on the underside of the Blocks could be a lot better as some Blocks are difficult to start and need to be cleaned up before assenbly

• Overall the raised bed is nice, however I was disappointed with the delivery and construction experience. I was given a 3-4 working day delivery timeline, but in reality it arrived two weeks later. I was also left with a large wood pallet to dispose of. The construction instructions were poor as they did not match my raised bed size, so the project started with a jigsaw puzzle. I bought the raised bed for ease. I do wonder if it would have been easier and cheaper to buy some train sleeper

Fab service and great product!

• Great product and fab service! Assembly was pretty easy, you do need to invest some time on the ground layer as getting it laid level is the most important thing. Once layer one was done, adding the extra layers was pretty easy and quick. You do need a bit of elbow grease to knock the pieces in at certain junctions. Spend your time reading the instruction carefully, as mistakes take a while to fix if you need to remove pieces to correct! Super solid construction and a great way to build a raised bed with minimum tools and experience needed

Good, well-designed product but lacking on some finishing

• Good design, stylish and practical. Solid. Some lack of finishing. Not all dowel holes were completely through. Fitting the metal plates on top (before the topping) was extremely difficult. Works with Lego but not this block stuff. Meant final topping difficult to get smooth at the joins. Some of the topping pieces needed sanding to finish properly. Disappointing details that stopped a 5-star rating.

Excellent product and customer service.

• Not the cheapest option but well worth the extra cost as accuracy of manufacture and quality of materials couldn't be bettered.

• Second purchase from Woodblocx - very easy to assemble and the finished product looks great. Went together very easily as I was building on a level concrete surface. Just a suggestion but why not advise volume of top soil required? I calculated the volume myself but, for reasons I can't fathom, was short on top soil.

• Once I realised the instructions for the raised bed were attached to an email, the blocks went together well. The dowels were hammered in really easily. Take care when trying to get the dowels out if needed. I had to leave one in as I couldn’t get it out. Wasn’t a problem though. The top layer had to cut down and the tool that we bought worked perfectly. Just one point - when putting the last layers of dowels in on the corners, do it with the metal bracket on top of the dowels before hammering in. Looks great now!

Excellent service & delivery

• Raised garden for our (relatively expensive) olive tree. Excellent end result. Have to say we had to carefully read the build instructions to make sure we got everything right along the way. We took the decision to add the joining pegs to the 2nd & 3rd layers before we joined them to the first layer -- just to make sure the base remained level. Important to make sure you use the steel locating pegs carfeully to ensure the octagon fits correctly. Only small issue would be to suggest that pegs for the final layer to attach the capping be supplied as short pegs -- rather than having to cut the standard ones -- it is a bit of a hassle. We used a small electric jig saw to cut them in situ. Overall tho' well tooled and relatively easy to assemble.

• This was our third order with WoodblocX! The beds are so easy to put together, the instructions which are sent ahead are very easy to follow. We often refer to the building process as ‘Lego for grownups’! This time we completed the building a lot quicker, as we had everything level and ready before the blocks arrived. The final beds look lovely in our back garden. They are slightly more expensive than some raised beds but the quality is obvious and they go together so easily. We are now considering using more WoodblocX in our front garden as well.

• Firstly love the product, like the concept and the end result is great. So why only 4* you may ask? A few longer pieces were warped and a few didn't have perfectly central holes. This made it harder to put together than I'd have hoped. Some spare pieces were included but that wasn't clear up front nor how many spare so I didn't swap them out at the time and later when I realised i was too far on dismantling and replacing would have been a lot of effort. But look at the end result it's great!

• Our raised bed was easy to put together: instructions were very clear. It looks lovely, and we are very pleased. It would be helpful to have clearer guidelines about what type of lining to use: even better, why not offer the option of purchasing a liner with the raised bed? Some of the wood blocks are quite coloured with the green wood preserver, so it took a little juggling to make sure that the "neatest" blocks were facing our patio.

Good looking raised bed, built by volunteers

• Ordered an octagonal raised bed for a community garden. Delivered on a pallet but easily unpacked and transported to the site. It isn't a cheap product but looks good and, since it can be built by amateur DIY folk, it ends up cheaper than using a builder or landscaper. Plenty of choice of combinations of diameter and height. Essential to sort out the pieces before starting and make sure you have the individual layer build details for frequent reference! Not as easy as Lego! Worth spending lots of time on leveling the first layer to get a good finish and to get the capping fastened on

Could be better if they listened to their customers

• I have bought from Woodblocx previously and came back as they have a great concept. However, execution is still far from perfect. Manufacturing is hit and miss with some poor finishing which means misaligned blocks and some fettling to get parts to fit. Holes not fully drilled out and a bit off centre. Also a couple of blocks were 2mm higher than others and 4 were 2mm lower so some gaps. Just a bit more care would make it a great product.

Thanks to the 'made to measure' function, we were able to tailor it to our small backyard and it fits perfectly well. • This product is excellent and if you follow the instructions religiously it is also very easy to put together. Think of it as a 3-dimensional jigsaw and make each layer fit the drawings provided before you commit to fixing it permanently. Preparation is everything. Level ground and square corners and it builds itself. Working by myself this particular raised bed took me just over 3hrs to complete.

• The kit arrived on a pallet and the driver placed it exactly where I wanted it (somewhat reluctantly). The blocks all fitted together easily although putting the metal corners on was a little problematic. I did manage to smash my thumb with a lump hammer during construction but that had nothing to do with the design and quality of the kit. I'd consider buying one again

• Preparing the foundations was the most tricky part of the procedure. Once foundations were flat and firm the beds were relatively easy to fit together. Dowels not easy to cut so best do this before inserting in top layer before fitting the capping.

Fantastic product and service

• Great product and the service was excellent and the item has done just what we wanted it to do. We have built it and not filled it with soil as we have decided to stand pots of grasses and acers in it. This enables us to move things about without having to dig them up. It has made a very nice feature at the lower end of the garden.

The Final Layer is Disappointing

• They didn't include paper instructions weirdly using Covid 19 as an excuse not to do so. I had to print mine out and ran out of ink in my printer while doing so. Very inconvenient at the weekend. Everything else went well until it came to the top layer. Apart from the missing corner brace which was sent promptly but arrived damaged, they don't include correctly sized plugs. The instructions ask you to saw the top bit off which for a luxury item like this is disappointing. Why not sent correctly sized plugs? Secondly the holes underneath the top pieces were drilled out badly and for the end two holes, incorrectly! The end two holes in each top piece don't take into account the the base of the plug that sits on top of the metal brace leaving a small gap. Why are these not drilled out correctly, it makes the whole thing look odd. Finally this weekend i got to planting at last and while doing so I noticed that the tops aren't fit for purpose. They are starting to split along their length. If it gets any worse I will be asking for replacements which will be useless if they send similar pieces.

• It is very solid but it should be pointed out that a liner on the sides will help to preserve the life of the wood. With lockdown it took 10 days to get a small pond liner that I could adapt as I am still self isolating. Under normal conditions this might not have been a problem but forewarned is forearmed. All the seedlings were in the soil within 24 hours of my grandson playing "brick building" and seem to be doing fairly well considering the odd weather we are getting at the moment.

Bespoke Raised Bed order

• Easy to use website allowing us to order a bespoke sized raised bed. Delivered on time and by very polite driver, happy to leave the pallet where we wanted it. I am a building novice so found the "how to lay out the blocks" a challenge and I dont think they went according to how they were meant to but following the basic guide on how to lay bricks, we got a pattern going and it looked great when finished, although in our build not all the pegs hammered into a peg below each time. But with all the pieces provided it went together with no gaps :) In respect of the kit, you receive quite a few "spare" blocks, which, if you read above, were more than likely for customers like me that haven't built the thing absolutely correctly. You also receive bags and bags of pegs, so no worries there about running out. Overall a great service and fabulous product that will really make any space pop!

if you go above a small planter I would think again

• Whilst I appreciate customer support was there I am not impressed overall. I wanted a quick and easy raised bed solution, I am wishing now I just did sleepers. This would have led to a more substantial and solid finish. Cutting plastic parts to fit a top layer and corners that line up until you reach the top where they are suddenly off angle is disappointing. Aesthetically they need to consider the block composition sizes as it is not symmetrical or uniform, depending on your bed size. Just for the money I am left somewhat unimpressed.

• Product looks amazing and even better than the photos on the website. Very easy and quick to assemble and perfect for the space I need it for. If had a larger garden would definitely consider buying another one.

Great idea but it didn’t fit together

• We built our raised bed on paved flat ground in our garden. Unfortunately, it didn’t fit together properly despite carefully following the instructions and as a result we couldn’t fit the final layer on flush to the bed, leaving a gap between the last brick layer and the lip that finishes it. Extremely disappointing given the cost of the bed so wouldn’t recommend.

We do advise on all our delivery information that our system is delivered on a pallet, unfortunately, due to the size and weight it cannot be delivered in a different way. We would have happily arranged collection of your pallet if contacted, there are also many companies who will collect these for free, there would be no need to pay for disposal of this. • We selected WoodBlox because we have 2 other raised beds constructed using your system. However the quality of the blocks delivered by you for our final 3 raised beds was disappointing. The finish looked rougher than the bolcks used in our previous 2 orders and the colour was grey with areas of green on the blocks. Your representative explained that the colour would change once the blocks had dried out and been exposed to ultraviolet light but they have some way to go before they look like the light honey colour of their previous blocks we had from you.

A blocking manoeuvre...

• The raised bed we chose was an octagonal one from the made to measure choices. It is about 1.65m diameter and 35cm tall, comprising three levels plus capping blocks. Construction is straightforward, but it is advisable to follow the instructions given; the blocks interlock like brickwork does, with plastic expanding dowels holding the entire structure firm and rigid. Long steel spikes anchor four opposite faces to prevent movement during construction and afterwards. The capacity of the raised bed is 30 bags of topsoil at 25litres per bag.

Happy on the whole but disappointed with capping

• Happy with product only disappointment is that within days of fitting capping it was showing surface splitting on several pieces and they dont really fit flush together.

• The raised beds could be put together very easily even by less experienced DIY people. End result looks good and is sturdy. We can well recommend the product but, alas, not the service.

Good efficient service

• Only just bought so cannot comment on life span. Pleased with appearance though some blocks look darker than others. Gardener put it together as part of redesigned area but looked straightforward. Had lots of compliments on appearance by neighbours.

• Great, few more tips on construction would be good. For example it's important to make sure black discs a hammered so they are flush with the top of the block otherwise you get a gap between the levels!

Octagonal raised bed a success

• Instructions easy to follow. Some blocks were a bit damp which made working with them more difficult. Capping was difficult to align and we had to cut off some dowels to make it fit. Overall quite good value for money but not as easy to assemble as shown on the video. Looks good.
