• Once I realised the instructions for the raised bed were attached to an email, the blocks went together well. The dowels were hammered in really easily. Take care when trying to get the dowels out if needed. I had to leave one in as I couldn’t get it out. Wasn’t a problem though. The top layer had to cut down and the tool that we bought worked perfectly. Just one point - when putting the last layers of dowels in on the corners, do it with the metal bracket on top of the dowels before hammering in. Looks great now!

Excellent service & delivery

• Raised garden for our (relatively expensive) olive tree. Excellent end result. Have to say we had to carefully read the build instructions to make sure we got everything right along the way. We took the decision to add the joining pegs to the 2nd & 3rd layers before we joined them to the first layer -- just to make sure the base remained level. Important to make sure you use the steel locating pegs carfeully to ensure the octagon fits correctly. Only small issue would be to suggest that pegs for the final layer to attach the capping be supplied as short pegs -- rather than having to cut the standard ones -- it is a bit of a hassle. We used a small electric jig saw to cut them in situ. Overall tho' well tooled and relatively easy to assemble.

• This was our third order with WoodblocX! The beds are so easy to put together, the instructions which are sent ahead are very easy to follow. We often refer to the building process as ‘Lego for grownups’! This time we completed the building a lot quicker, as we had everything level and ready before the blocks arrived. The final beds look lovely in our back garden. They are slightly more expensive than some raised beds but the quality is obvious and they go together so easily. We are now considering using more WoodblocX in our front garden as well.

• Firstly love the product, like the concept and the end result is great. So why only 4* you may ask? A few longer pieces were warped and a few didn't have perfectly central holes. This made it harder to put together than I'd have hoped. Some spare pieces were included but that wasn't clear up front nor how many spare so I didn't swap them out at the time and later when I realised i was too far on dismantling and replacing would have been a lot of effort. But look at the end result it's great!

• Our raised bed was easy to put together: instructions were very clear. It looks lovely, and we are very pleased. It would be helpful to have clearer guidelines about what type of lining to use: even better, why not offer the option of purchasing a liner with the raised bed? Some of the wood blocks are quite coloured with the green wood preserver, so it took a little juggling to make sure that the "neatest" blocks were facing our patio.

Good looking raised bed, built by volunteers

• Ordered an octagonal raised bed for a community garden. Delivered on a pallet but easily unpacked and transported to the site. It isn't a cheap product but looks good and, since it can be built by amateur DIY folk, it ends up cheaper than using a builder or landscaper. Plenty of choice of combinations of diameter and height. Essential to sort out the pieces before starting and make sure you have the individual layer build details for frequent reference! Not as easy as Lego! Worth spending lots of time on leveling the first layer to get a good finish and to get the capping fastened on

Could be better if they listened to their customers

• I have bought from Woodblocx previously and came back as they have a great concept. However, execution is still far from perfect. Manufacturing is hit and miss with some poor finishing which means misaligned blocks and some fettling to get parts to fit. Holes not fully drilled out and a bit off centre. Also a couple of blocks were 2mm higher than others and 4 were 2mm lower so some gaps. Just a bit more care would make it a great product.

Easy online order

• Good wood, super simple and straightforward building, almost no tools required except a hammer. It's essentially Lego for adult gardeners! Thanks to the 'made to measure' function, we were able to tailor it to our small backyard and it fits perfectly well. • This product is excellent and if you follow the instructions religiously it is also very easy to put together. Think of it as a 3-dimensional jigsaw and make each layer fit the drawings provided before you commit to fixing it permanently. Preparation is everything. Level ground and square corners and it builds itself. Working by myself this particular raised bed took me just over 3hrs to complete.

• The kit arrived on a pallet and the driver placed it exactly where I wanted it (somewhat reluctantly). The blocks all fitted together easily although putting the metal corners on was a little problematic. I did manage to smash my thumb with a lump hammer during construction but that had nothing to do with the design and quality of the kit. I'd consider buying one again

• Preparing the foundations was the most tricky part of the procedure. Once foundations were flat and firm the beds were relatively easy to fit together. Dowels not easy to cut so best do this before inserting in top layer before fitting the capping.

Fantastic product and service

• Great product and the service was excellent and the item has done just what we wanted it to do. We have built it and not filled it with soil as we have decided to stand pots of grasses and acers in it. This enables us to move things about without having to dig them up. It has made a very nice feature at the lower end of the garden.

The Final Layer is Disappointing

• They didn't include paper instructions weirdly using Covid 19 as an excuse not to do so. I had to print mine out and ran out of ink in my printer while doing so. Very inconvenient at the weekend. Everything else went well until it came to the top layer. Apart from the missing corner brace which was sent promptly but arrived damaged, they don't include correctly sized plugs. The instructions ask you to saw the top bit off which for a luxury item like this is disappointing. Why not sent correctly sized plugs? Secondly the holes underneath the top pieces were drilled out badly and for the end two holes, incorrectly! The end two holes in each top piece don't take into account the the base of the plug that sits on top of the metal brace leaving a small gap. Why are these not drilled out correctly, it makes the whole thing look odd. Finally this weekend i got to planting at last and while doing so I noticed that the tops aren't fit for purpose. They are starting to split along their length. If it gets any worse I will be asking for replacements which will be useless if they send similar pieces.

• It is very solid but it should be pointed out that a liner on the sides will help to preserve the life of the wood. With lockdown it took 10 days to get a small pond liner that I could adapt as I am still self isolating. Under normal conditions this might not have been a problem but forewarned is forearmed. All the seedlings were in the soil within 24 hours of my grandson playing "brick building" and seem to be doing fairly well considering the odd weather we are getting at the moment.

Bespoke Raised Bed order

• Easy to use website allowing us to order a bespoke sized raised bed. Delivered on time and by very polite driver, happy to leave the pallet where we wanted it. I am a building novice so found the "how to lay out the blocks" a challenge and I dont think they went according to how they were meant to but following the basic guide on how to lay bricks, we got a pattern going and it looked great when finished, although in our build not all the pegs hammered into a peg below each time. But with all the pieces provided it went together with no gaps :) In respect of the kit, you receive quite a few "spare" blocks, which, if you read above, were more than likely for customers like me that haven't built the thing absolutely correctly. You also receive bags and bags of pegs, so no worries there about running out. Overall a great service and fabulous product that will really make any space pop!

if you go above a small planter I would think again

• Whilst I appreciate customer support was there I am not impressed overall. I wanted a quick and easy raised bed solution, I am wishing now I just did sleepers. This would have led to a more substantial and solid finish. Cutting plastic parts to fit a top layer and corners that line up until you reach the top where they are suddenly off angle is disappointing. Aesthetically they need to consider the block composition sizes as it is not symmetrical or uniform, depending on your bed size. Just for the money I am left somewhat unimpressed.

• Product looks amazing and even better than the photos on the website. Very easy and quick to assemble and perfect for the space I need it for. If had a larger garden would definitely consider buying another one.

Great idea but it didn’t fit together

• We built our raised bed on paved flat ground in our garden. Unfortunately, it didn’t fit together properly despite carefully following the instructions and as a result we couldn’t fit the final layer on flush to the bed, leaving a gap between the last brick layer and the lip that finishes it. Extremely disappointing given the cost of the bed so wouldn’t recommend.

We do advise on all our delivery information that our system is delivered on a pallet, unfortunately, due to the size and weight it cannot be delivered in a different way. We would have happily arranged collection of your pallet if contacted, there are also many companies who will collect these for free, there would be no need to pay for disposal of this. • We selected WoodBlox because we have 2 other raised beds constructed using your system. However the quality of the blocks delivered by you for our final 3 raised beds was disappointing. The finish looked rougher than the bolcks used in our previous 2 orders and the colour was grey with areas of green on the blocks. Your representative explained that the colour would change once the blocks had dried out and been exposed to ultraviolet light but they have some way to go before they look like the light honey colour of their previous blocks we had from you.

A blocking manoeuvre...

• The raised bed we chose was an octagonal one from the made to measure choices. It is about 1.65m diameter and 35cm tall, comprising three levels plus capping blocks. Construction is straightforward, but it is advisable to follow the instructions given; the blocks interlock like brickwork does, with plastic expanding dowels holding the entire structure firm and rigid. Long steel spikes anchor four opposite faces to prevent movement during construction and afterwards. The capacity of the raised bed is 30 bags of topsoil at 25litres per bag.

Happy on the whole but disappointed with capping

• Happy with product only disappointment is that within days of fitting capping it was showing surface splitting on several pieces and they dont really fit flush together.

Disappointing service

• The raised beds could be put together very easily even by less experienced DIY people. End result looks good and is sturdy. We can well recommend the product but, alas, not the service.

• The product arrived a week late due to difficulties with the supplier- this was not a problem as we had been kept informed. However the quality and ease of assembly was not quite as good as we had hoped from watching the videos and previous reviews. Unfortunately the down cutter had also been left out of the order.

Octagonal raised bed a success

• Instructions easy to follow. Some blocks were a bit damp which made working with them more difficult. Capping was difficult to align and we had to cut off some dowels to make it fit. Overall quite good value for money but not as easy to assemble as shown on the video. Looks good.

Good product, good service

• The theory of putting together the raised beds I bought was a bit harder than the video showed but not much. The metal plates that reinforce the corners and buttresses are a VERY tight fit and could probably be made slightly easier to fit. There was a small surplus of parts which allowed for a couple of mistakes we made in hammering in dowels. It cannot be emphasised enough that the whole project is dependent on the ground being as level as possible. On the whole though it worked well and the result is quite attractive.

• The Octagonal raised bed that was obtained for around the tree is absolutely beautiful and I am so pleased with it. More rustic than I expected but I actually love that. When putting together we found the more level the ground the easier. Last level can be fiddly to get in line and very tight to fix in place (one of the plinths split slightly because of this) - however they need to be - otherwise you would have gaps. Would I recommend this company and the product........absolutely. Would I buy from them again.............absolutely.

Beautifully crafted planter

• It would have been helpful to have received a bit more detail after placing the order. For instance, I received a date for delivery, but was unable to log onto the carrier's website to find out whether it was going to be morning, afternoon or evening. Twice I had to phone your office to establish (a) whether you'd received the order, and, (b) an approximate delivery time.

• A good product but could be improved if base pieces were solid. Very difficult to get individual blocks level on non-solid surface. Subsequent layers are problem free.

Definitely Not AS Easy As Lego!

• Five of the Capping Pieces had cracks in them - contacted Woodblocx and they were helpful, stating that the cracks were due to the weather.....and if after time the cracks got worse they would replace them. I replied that I would monitor them but was not particularly happy. I don't think wood with cracks should have been sent out! Also hairline cracks in other pieces of wood definitely got bigger when the pegs were put in place. Also - the width of some of the pre-drilled holes varied - some pegs went in too easily and were a bit slack - overall the bed looks quite good - but I'm a bit disappointed with the experience.

Decent product with a number of issues

• A decent if expensive product is scuppered by poor instructions making construction laborious. Poor delivery service by their partners.

As advised on placing your order we are unable to provide a timed delivery service which you had requested in your order comments, on your second order we provided a free AM delivery as a gesture of goodwill, however, the driver was delayed due to issues out of our control. We did provide a refund for the cost of delivery and I do apologise if you have not received this yet. We include a picking list and full instructions for each item as standard with each order, this was emailed to you and a copy sent with your delivery. This breaks down what is required for each bed individually and a step by step guide on how to build the beds, this is clearly labelled with bed sizes on the front page. • Not as easy to put together as seems. Instructions consice and easy to follow but finishing wood on top layer quite difficult. Needed a joiner to finish and cut the wood to fit.

WoodBlocX..leave your long drill pieces and heavy duty saw in your toolbox

• Fairly easy to assemble if you have spent the time levelling the ground in advance. Instructions were ok but had one small note of confusion. Wish the blocks had a colour stamp on them to match the diagram for people who can't count holes properly ...like me on occasions! Left with a few spare bits...which were over and above the bits required according to the invoice / delivery listing / diagram Overall delighted with the finished article.

Looks good when completed which is the main thing

• The plates to put at right angles meant that there was slight tipping either side so having a straight line became impossible but overall it looks good

Highly recommend WoodBlocX.

• Delighted with my wildlife pond, very easy to build for a 70+year old grandma! Good laying plan and clear, easy to follow instructions. The only disappointment was the top edge capping was very poorly finished, like coconut matting in several places around the knots and extremely coarse and 'splintery' compared to the smoother finish of the BlocX. However, I have sanded it all down and given two coats of Sadolin light oak, now perfect!

Great service, great product, would definitely recommend

• I love my raised bed, it was delivered on time, looks great and was easy to put together. The only comment I have is that it may be useful to tell new customers to line up the holes before putting in pegs, as because the wood is drilled for all sizes, you don't need some holes. Realised this after one but it could have been an issue. Had loads of compliments as well. Hopefully will buy another one for veggies when space is organised. Thank you
